PRESIDENT JONATHAN ASSURED OF OVER ONE MILLION VOTES FROM SOUTHERN KADUNA; Jonathan must contest 2015 presidential election – Southern Kaduna group A socio-political group, Arise Nigeria, Southern Kaduna Chapter, has stated that President Goodluck Jonathan “must” contest the 2015 election. It said the conclusion was reached after a thorough and fair public opinion poll was carried out in the southern part of the state. The group, while condemning the attack on Jonathan’s administration, urged him not be deterred or cave into pressure and cheap blackmail. Addressing a press conference on Friday at New Wonderland Hotel, Kafanchan, Chairman, Arise Nigeria, Southern Kaduna Chapter, Air Commodore John Ajeye (rtd), explained that the group has resolved to support Jonathan for peace and unity of the country. “We believe there should be continuity in governance for now because of the factors threatening the peace of the country, and that is why we say Jonathan must contest the 2015 general elections,” Ajeye stated. Listing the achievement of the present administration, Ajaye said the open door policy, revolutionising the agricultural sector, empowering the minority, effective health care delivery, release of N14 billion for dry season farming and establishment of 12 federal universities, three in the South and nine in the North, and others spurred the group to openly declare support for President Jonathan and PDP government. According to him, all other Northerners must shun selfish interest and allow the president to re-contest 2015 election. Speaking further, he disclosed that Arise Nigeria has embarked on mobilization for Jonthan’s re- election campaign. “We are not just talking, we have started mobilising and sensitising the populace for quality awareness to vote for credible candidates for the benefit of our people come 2015, he said.
