PRESS RELEASE DESERT WINDS FREEDOM BAND WANTS TO MEET YOU! The public is encouraged to attend our annual Information Mixer as we celebrate the beginning of our 13th Season, Tuesday September 17 from 5 to 7 pm, at Tropicale Lounge 330 E. Amado Road in Palm Springs. This is your opportunity to let us know how we are doing, join the band or just learn more about how this all volunteer organization that performs throughout the Coachella Valley operates and our chance to meet and get to know our audience. If you are a musician that’s great, we are always looking for more people on stage. BUT we are also looking to meet non-performing volunteers to assist us back stage and in administrative areas. The Desert Winds Freedom Band is a member of the LGBA (Lesbian & Gay Band Association), and is currently in the process of bringing the annual conference to Palm Springs during Pride Week 2016. It is a major undertaking and we need all the volunteer help we can find to help organize and plan this event to show-off the Coachella Valley. Membership in the Desert Winds Freedom band is open to all gay and gay friendly people who share and interest in concert band music. Our current age ranges from 18-85. We rehearse each Thursday evening from 7-9:30 at our rehearsal hall located at 68-727 E. Palm Canyon Drive Cathedral City, CA 92234 (Old Cathedral City Senior Center). Stop by Tuesday September 17 at the Tropicale Lounge from 5-7 pm. We will be on the back patio and looking forward to meeting YOU!
