PRESS RELEASE: Simone Faggioli seven times King of Europe Seventh european title for the tuscan champion: the consecutive sixth, approaching more and more to Mauro Nesti’s record. The Saint Ursanne- Les Rangiers took place this week end in Swiss as the 10th competition of the FIA European Hill Climb Championship. Simone Faggioli, on his Norma M20 FC with Zytek engine and Marangoni/LeCont tyres, ruled on all the competed runs: three heats and 2 race ones (the third race run did not take place due to the big delay in the event program). The florentine driver gained the first absolute podium position with an overall time of 326570 before the compatriot Christian Merli on Osella PA 2000 and the Luxembourger David Hauser on Wolf GB08. Faggioli declared at the end of the race: «This was a really challenging week end for me, due to very low temperatures and not always favorable weather conditions. But in the end the caution was repaid. I’m happy I conquered the European Champion title on such a difficult and fast track. It is the right tribute to such an extremely performing and safe car. I want to thank Norma for the confidence they gave me and for the work we made together. In this moment I want to enjoy this victory and the continental title, but from tomorrow on my thoughts will be for the Gubbio race, because I want to concentrate on the Italian Championship where I’m still fighting for the title».
