***PRIDE [Part 1]*** Pride is a characteristic of satan. It is the sin of Lucifer. It is an evil spirit,thus is not of the Lord,but of the world. If anyone has pride that is because of the influence of the evil spirit. In other words,it is the spirit of pride that influence human beings to be proud in a variety of ways with a lack of awareness of its consequences. The Bible warns very severely that after pride destruction will follow. In case you dont know,let me tell you 20 characteristics of pride; 1. Pride is arrogant. 2. Pride doesnt submit. 3. Pride exalt self. 4. Pride is blind to the truth. 5. Pride is wise in its own eyes. 6. Pride takes revenge. 7. Pride is rude. 8. Pride thinks to highly of its own self. 9. Pride has a feeling of superiority. 10. Pride is not humble. 11. Pride brags and boasts. 12. Pride insults and ridicules others. 13. Pride violates Gods laws. 14. Pride is violent and it attacks. 15. Pride argues and fights. 16. Pride hates and abhors. 17. Pride is foolish. 18. Pride is selfish. 19. Pride puts others down. 20. Pride is not patient. Knowing these characteristics of pride will tell you it is not good to keep the spirit of pride inside you. Some people have spiritual pride. They think that they are more spiritual than others. This is what we call a holier than thou attitude. To some extent they have virtually all the characteristics of pride. Generally,a special blessing,gift or favour of the Lord serves as the root cause of pride. When God blesses us and exalts us above others we should be thankful and grateful to Him. We should be sympathetic towards the less fortunate ones and try to be a blessing to them. But some people are very proud because of what they have or what they are. Now in the world in which we are living,it is the little extra blessing that God blesses some people with,which becomes the cause of their pride. In some people we can see; 1. Pride of Education. 2. Pride of Wealth. 3. Pride of Power. 4. Pride of Rich Heritage. 5. Pride of Good Looks or Beauty. 6. Pride of Superiority. 7. Pride of Position. 8. Pride of Skills or Abilities. 9. Pride of Affluence. 10. Pride of Family Background.
