PROPOSALS! (TO MY BROTHERS)- PART ONE. When it comes to making marriage proposals, many brothers get it wrong; and in the process loose their respect, or even miss it all! HOW DO I MAKE A MARRIAGE PROPOSAL? Of course, the Bible should be our guide. Before a man makes a proposal to a sister, he must have gotten conviction from God. Psalm 32:8: I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go..:. It is necessary to wait for Gods instructions before proposing to a sister. Brothers, you dont have to merry-go-round nor start saying your history/achievement just to make a proposal to a sister. Let your words be inspired, simple and direct! Proverbs 10:19: In a multitude of words transgression is not lacking... But today, we see so many brothers who instead of PRAYING FIRST to ascertain from God if the feelings they have toward a sister is from Him, they go fidgeting about, acting out of fear, going about with a questionnaire, asking the sisters friends about her...Whats her genotype, whats her parents occupation, can she cook, whats the negative trend in her family, even go as far to the sisters church or place of work to make their findings on her behaviour or position; WHY? Which one comes first; inquiring from God who knows ALL about her or from men? After doing all these, and you later find out she isnt Gods perfect will for you; isnt that WASTE OF TIME? Why turn yourself to a monitoring spirit because of a sister? No decent sister will even respect you this way. Why loose your respect all in the bid to make a proposal? Cant you be like Abraham who even from where he was standing was able to see far? Cant you be like Elisha that had the spiritual eyes and saw what Gehazi couldnt see? Even in your closest, cant God open your spiritual eyes to see and know? The problem we have today is that many brothers arent praying again, but just going about sampling and playing games to know which will fall to their side...Is this Gods Way? You cant employ the system of the world and wish to get godly/decent sister. Every good and perfect gift comes from God, so you have to be ready to do it Gods way by asking from Him first! God still speaks and leads His children today! If only you can stop being lazy in the place of prayers, and stop being controlled alone by her container! Let the Holy Spirit lead and guide you in making the right choice! Dont be deceived, It isnt difficult for you to discern Gods will for you in marriage AS LONG AS you have a personal relationship with Him, tarry in the place of prayers, feed on His Word, be open to Him and God will give you His best! But also, it is very easy to miss it, if you fail to depend on God! Remember, at times, fake looks like original, and it takes a second look to discern! My beloved single brothers, do you believe God has the best woman for you in marriage? YES! Then, why not ask Him, instead of depending on your own strength/understanding? Also, you dont have to mount pressure on a sister after making a proposal. If her answer is NO, why bother her and make her ridicule you in the process? Why not go back to the ONE who sent you if you are convinced! Is her heart not in Gods hands? If truly He has led you to her, He has the power to melt her hardened heart and turn it to your side! Even if God permits her to go her own way, doesnt He have a better offer for you? Since you have done His will and obeyed, why not leave the rest to God. But most brothers, even prefer to go for the one they feel is good for them, and not Gods best for them! The truth is theres always a BIG difference between your own good and Gods Best! He created you and knows all the dynamics/framework of your life/destiny, and the kind of woman with those deposits to fit into your life! So wait to be led by God; dont lead Him, because He wont even follow you and youll be On Your Own. Let God lead and youll follow, and not stumble! To the heartbroken brothers, may Gods healing balm flow into your hearts; may God settle speedily and divinely favour our waiting brothers in JESUS NAME-AMEN!
