PUBLIC NOTICE REPUBLIC OF CUBA SCHOLARSHIPS TENABLE IN THE ACADEMIC YEAR 2014/15 The Ministry of Education & Skills Development invites applicants from qualified citizens of Botswana for three (3) undergraduate Scholarships in Medicine tenable in Cuba for the academic year 2014/15 to study at the Latin-American School of Medicine (ELAM) in Havana. The program is offered in Spanish requiring a mandatory preparatory language training of one year. All accepted candidates will receive allowances in national currency and accommodation on the same terms as to the citizens of Cuba sponsored by the Cuban government. ELIGIBILITY Applicants should: • Be Citizens of Botswana • Minimum of 46 points at BGCSE or equivalent with relevant school subjects including Physics, Chemistry, Biology. • Be less than 25 years old. • Have completed Secondary General Education (BGCSE or equivalent) in less than 2 years. DOCUMENTS TO BE SUBMITTED • Application letter-include contact details e.g. cell phone, telephone • Certified copy of Birth Certificate • 10 coloured passport photos • Certified copy of passport (validity of passport should be more than 2 years). • Certified copy of School certificate or result slip. • Police Clearance certificate. • Original copy of Health Certificate where the following aspects must be certified: • HIV/ AIDS negative • Hepatitis Negative • Pregnancy-Negative ALL ORIGINAL MEDICAL TESTS RESULTS MUST BE ATTACHED ASPIRANTS WHO ARE ALREADY ON GOVERNMENT SPONSORSHIP WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED.
