PURITY OVER POWER- It can be a very dangerous thing when a heart - TopicsExpress

PURITY OVER POWER- It can be a very dangerous thing when a heart begins to long for powerful ministry, gift recognition and opportunity above intimacy with The Lord and rock solid character. Our generation is almost a text book of what not to do in the ministry. We have seen a long line of gifted people who have shot off like a rocket only to come crashing down because their character could not sustain them. As the church continues to navigate through a season of reform and revival my prayer is that we place high value on godly character, longevity and righteous living. One of the things that I have observed about true revival is that there is a drawing of the heart to plunge deeper into God and walk closer with Him. As we are awakened to the REAL calling of our lives- to KNOW GOD and be KNOWN by Him our hearts are purified in His presence. The more that we follow hard after Him the more our lives should change to begin to reflect God’s ways and not our own. God is never selfish, deceptive, impatient or lacking character in any way. God also does not break covenant or abandon a relationship just because there is a momentary challenge. I believe we need a generation who values the prayer room above the platform. We need leaders who honor character above gifting. A gift is never a sign of approval. Paul told Timothy to select leaders based upon their fruit and solid personal lives not just a gift. We are praying for REVIVAL, outpouring and massive AWAKENING, I believe one of the keys is to have strong believers with good character who can be trusted to lead and steward the move of God. May the church become a peculiar people whose personal lives are a reflection of the love and enduring character of our Father. Matt. 7:16- You will know them by their fruits. Grapes are not gathered from thorn bushes nor figs from thistles, are they?
