Parent beware an incidence in Oak Park We were notified by an Oak Hills Elementary School parent that on Friday afternoon, her son and his friend were riding their bikes near the corner of Lindero Canyon and Rockfield, when they were approached by a man who asked the children to get in his car and help him find his lost dog. The boys refused, screamed, and immediately went home. The parents called the Sheriff and reported the incident. The description of the car is a black Honda 4-door with dark tinted windows and a bike rack. The description of the man is Caucasian about 30-35 years old. This is a good opportunity to remind your children that they are never, under any circumstances, to enter the car of someone they do not know, no matter what they are told by that person. The boys involved in this incident knew what to do and acted accordingly. If you see a vehicle in the area matching the description, please call the Ventura County Sheriffs Department at (805) 494-8200. Please also notify OPUSD - 818 735-3206. Note that we do not know the intentions of the driver, but we should act with an abundance of caution when it comes to our children. Thank You, Dr. Tony Knight Superintendent
