Parents and Village: I am deeply saddened by the results Ive gathered today from my 3rd graders reading test. As parents, we are the first teachers. Know your children and their weaknesses. Work with them! READ with them!! Teachers are ppl, not miracle workers. We (most of us) go beyond the call of duty to get the job done but we need your help! Volunteer at a local school, mentor a group of kids and for heavens sake, if u dont do your part, please stop shifting the blame on someone else. And you certainly shouldnt be in anybodys office clowning in May when your child is retained or doesnt pass the state tests!!!!
