Actually pretty much everything he says is exactly what Buddhism is all about - neuroscience is the science of Buddhism, in other words. To be brilliant every day, we need control over our behaviour, to do that we need control over our thinking, to do that we need control over how we feel, to do that we need control over our emotions, to do that we need control over our physiology, and how do we do that? By gaining control over our breathing. Why on earth would that help? Because breathing can control the heart, and the heart controls the brain. Simple. Beautifully simple :) And very, very Buddhist.
