Part of the point is missed. We are not students in a class....and politics is not about everybody having identical prosperity. The world is Not fair, never has been, never will be. Asking that the rich pay the same % on taxes as their secretaries and employees do is Not stealing from the rich. Having minimum wage support basic needs isnt charity. There will be poor forever, not by choice, but by circumstances. Ours is supposed to be a government by the people (not by PACs and big corporations) and for the people ( all of them not just the 1-2% ). If government is for the people, all of them, then a civilized nation should care for its most vulnerable, fragile and those truly in need of basic support. What basic support/needs should cover is home, food, clothing, transportation and basic medical. What is NOT basic support/needs: Expensive cars, shoes, smart phones, McMansions, eating in expensive restaurants.......etc.
