God gives a condition to its presence in our lives. This condition is found in 2 Chronicles 15 In the previous chapter, King Asa had led the armies of Judah to a great victory against the army of a million men of Ethiopia. However, Asa testified that it was the presence of God who scattered the enemy, Asa cried unto the Lord his God, and said, Lord, no one else to help you in the battle between the powerful and those who have no strength ; help us, O Lord our God, for we rest on thee, and in thy name we go against this multitude ... And the Lord smote the Ethiopians before Asa ... (2 Chronicles 14: 11-12). It is God who does the work. While Asa and his armies took the lead in the triumphal procession back to Jerusalem, a prophet named Azariah met them at the entrance of the city with this message from God: Hear me, Asa and all Judah and Benjamin: The Lord be with you while you are with him. And if ye seek him, he will be found by you; but if you forsake him, he will forsake you. And for a long time Israel was without the true God, and without a teaching priest, and without law. But in their distress they turned to the Lord God of Israel, and sought him, and he was found by them (15: 1-4).. This is the secret of achieving and maintaining the presence of God in your life. The Lord reminded Asa clearly bluntly: Asa, never forget how you got this victory. Sought me with all your heart, you turned me completely, when you were in trouble - and I sent my presence.It was my presence which drove away your enemies! According to Scripture, our main concern is to keep looking to God to ensure his presence with us. God makes His covenant of grace with every believer. This agreement is incorporated in promises like, God has laid on Christ the iniquity of us all. Jesus became a curse for us. He did not leave us nor forsake you. This covenant God revealed his presence through an anonymous prophet who brought a message to Eli, ... therefore the Lord God of Israel, says: Surely I promised that your house and the house of your father should walk before Me forever ; but now the Lord declares. Far be it from me because I will honor those who honor me, and those who despise me shall be lightly esteemed (1 Samuel 2:30) .The phrase lightly esteemed must about God removing his presence. Many people come to Christ with a great initial outpouring of faith. However, as time wears his zeal, and begin to neglect the Lord. Despise his commandments and return to their old sinful ways. an illusion! The Bible makes it clear: If you leave it, it will leave you! Only when Gods presence is upon us we can look and see and understand his glory. When Israel was in the wilderness, God manifested his presence through a cloud. This cloud was a physical manifestation of Gods oath to be with his people. Down and covered the tabernacle night and day. And acted as their guide for each task. When the cloud moved, they moved, and when he stayed, they stayed. Today, that same cloud of his presence hovers over your secret closet of prayer. Wait each day to wrap you in His peace. It will guide you, give you power and peace. And it will give detailed direction for your home, your work and relationships. The apostle Paul writes that every believers body is the tabernacle of God: Do not you know that you are Gods temple and that Gods Spirit lives in you (1 Corinthians 3:16.). It is wonderful to be shut in with God, developing a consistent prayer life. God promises that as you become a servant who seeks and prays, will source its presence in your life - doors closing and opening its divine order and working around you.
