Pastor Mikes Daily Devotion Friday June 6, 2014 Acts 4:3-4, And they laid hands on them, and put them in custody until the next day, for it was already evening. However, many of those who heard the word believed; and the number of the men came to be about five thousand. Today is the anniversary of the beginning of the invasion of Europe during World War 2. One thousand four hundred and sixty five Americans died that day. I used to go down to the YMCA and exercise every other day. Just about every time I was there, there was an old man who would walk on the treadmill. It was almost comical because he would have the machine going as slow as it could go, and even then he could barely keep up. One day, after seeing him for six months, I got to talking to him. That day was the anniversary of D-Day and I asked him if he remembered all that was going on at the time. He told me that he remembered it well, as he was on the second wave of soldiers landing on Omaha Beach that day. Not only did he say that he remembered that day, but he still lived with the sights and experiences. I asked him if it was worth it and he told me that he would gladly do it again; the results were worth the sacrifice. In our Christian lives, it is interesting the way the Lord uses us, then removes us, in order for the Word to achieve His purpose. As we live Gods Word through our lives and speak it into the lives of others, the possibilities are endless and the results eternal. Never become discouraged because of persecution, rejection, or opposition, because our lives are all about obedience to the Lords cause. The battle will rage, some will fall, victories will be won, but the results are His. In the end it will all be worth the sacrifice. Jeremiah 20:9, Then I said, “I will not make mention of Him, Nor speak anymore in His name.” But His word was in my heart like aburning fire Shut up in my bones; I was weary of holding it back, And l could not.
