Pat and I made a quick Wednesday-Friday 675 mile round-trip to Ventura for a wonderful family reunion Thursday evening! We made an overnight stop in the Danish Village of Solvang and stayed at Svensdgaard’s Lodge, where we honeymooned 43 years ago next month! We enjoyed walking around town enjoying the architecture around us. I was interested in the amazing contrast in roofs – starting with this moss-covered-tile roof on one of the buildings at the Spanish Old Santa Inés Mission (1804) and the Danish-style roofs, some with life-sized stork statues and nests on their roof for good luck.
