Patient Account Representative Texas Regional Medical Center at Sunnyvale - Sunnyvale, TX The Patient Access Representative is responsible for greeting all patients, collecting and documenting correct demographic and billing information, an accurate cash drawer, issuing receipts, daily deposits, assist patients with scheduling/rescheduling/confirming of all appointments, and maintaining an orderly flow of patients through the reception and lobby area. Representative will be required to perform patient access activities in support of multiple outpatient ancillary departments and inpatient units. Duties also include pre-certification of admissions, and special procedures with insurance companies, including eligibility. Must understand process flows and software technology required to support hospital inpatient and outpatient services, as appropriate. Must perform compliant order verification for all inpatient and outpatient orders through actual orders or order software. High school diploma or GED equivalent. Two years of hospital registration experience, CHAA certification preferred Typing 35 words per minute minimum, ICD9 and/or CPT coding knowledge, Knowledge of insurance, financial experience, balancing and handling large sums of money.
