Paul George, an All-Star on the Indiana Pacers, sustained a gruesome right leg injury late in the United States national team’s intrasquad scrimmage Friday. George leapt to contest a fast-break layup by James Harden with 9 minutes 33 seconds left in the fourth quarter, and his leg buckled against the bottom of the backboard stanchion. After about 10 minutes of stoppage, George was taken out of the arena on a stretcher.
