Pay attention to how you feel before and after you hang out with - TopicsExpress

Pay attention to how you feel before and after you hang out with someone... Do you feel lit up, fired up, and more of you? Or deflated, tired, or just meh? Start spending MORE time with people in the first category... ... And less and less time with those in the other. Over the last few years I have realized that there are a lot of really cool people I thought (and assumed) would actually expand my life by hanging out with them. (I mean hey, a lot of people look up to them, think theyre awesome, theyre creating big things etc) But when I took a step back I realized that some of those folks were the most judgmental and superior people I knew. And I always wondered why I walked away feeling like crap... Hmmm... Maybe I was being judged like crazy? These days I may live more of a solitary life because I am EXTREMELY picky about who I hang out with. - Will spending time with this person enrich my experience? - Will we have fun together? - Do we both have something amazing to contribute to each other? - Are there strings attached to this relationship that are unspoken or unsaid? - Does this person appreciate me for who I am and sees me with the eyes of no judgment? These are just a few of the questions I have asked more and more about people and the QUALITY of my relationships has gone up (even though the QUANTITY has gone down) This means more fun, more laughs, more joy, and a more supportive and expansive group of friends I get to enjoy. (Oh and did I mention WAY less drama!) The thing is my friend, you have every right to discriminate who you choose to spend time with. You dont owe anybody your friendship. Thats whats cool about all this :) You are valuable. People must EARN the right to spend time with you because you are such a gift. Please dont forget that :) If this message inspired you in some way, please like and SHARE this post with your friends to pass along the torch of inspiration today!
