Peace In the Storms All Around Us “ Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!” –Psalms 46:10 In this fallen world, times of trouble are definitely a part of life. They are sure to come upon nations, families, and the personal lives of individuals. This psalm teaches us how to respond when we feel like we are a city under siege and everything around us is being shaken. In faith, we are called to turn to God. We need to ask Him to be both a wall of refuge surrounding us and the source of our sustaining strength (v. 1-5). This work of God enables us to find rest when trouble comes in like a flood. In Him, we find that special calm in the center of the storms that swirl around us. Until the end of this age when Christ’s Kingdom has come in all its glory, let us keep in mind His words, “Be still and know that I am God.”
