People are tired of professional politicians and people who spend their entire careers in office. [Boyd and I] have actual experience in running state government which is more than [the other candidates]. Being a legislator or being a local government official doesnt give you the experience we had in managing the executive branch... I havent spent my life in elected office, Ive spent 25 years in the private sector building a successful business that has brought hundreds of companies and thousands of jobs to the state. Ive always ben active and involved in politics and Ive cared about this; Im a lifelong Marylander who loves this state, I just havent been spent my life running for office.
