People must hope for a ‘New Manipur’ : Francis De Souza EVEN AFTER 12 YEARS OF CONGRESS RULE NOTHING HAS CHANGED IN MANIPUR manipurtimes/news-article/the-peoples-chronicle-news/item/8493 13 March 2014:The people of the state can hope for a ‘New Manipur’ with the change of the present government asserted deputy Chief Minister of Goa, Francis De Souza during a political conference of Bharatiya Janata Party held at Noney, Longmai III Common Ground on Thursday. Francis De Souza stated that he was wondering why the people of Manipur are going out to other states but today he realized it. Good road connectivity, water supply, electricity, education and health sectors were the basic things for a developed state but such basic thing was a big problem and still lacking in Manipur, he said, adding he had never experienced such bad roads of Manipur in other states during a few hours trip from Tulihal Airport to Noney. The Congress has been ruling the state for more than 12 years uninterrupted and nothing is going to change more than this. Rahul Gandhi informed the people here at Imphal that only 15% of the funds have reached the people. So the remaining 85% must have gone automatically into the pockets of the ministers and MLAs. Corruptions and scams will happen again and again in the Congress government as their only agenda is to make money and make the common people die, he added.
