People think of their dogs as their children. Fine but follow thru with that thought. I never allowed my kids to jump in the laps or arms of passing strangers and idly watch them slobber or lick their face (with gusto) or sniff their nether regions (with gusto) and hunt with their nose and paws in armpits and other spaces for food .. and then from the sidelines cheerfully say Dont worry - hes friendly! He wont hurt cha! If I have a prior relationship with your dog I probably dont mind much at all, and that would also translate nicely to your kids. Generally I tolerate kids with a little more grace but I do not EVER like random dogs jumping on me. And I appreciate their owners even less.
