Perfection is a relative concept. Many say that there is no such thing as perfection, and that could be true depending on your meaning of perfection. If by perfect, you mean the ultimate good, or lack of flaw, then truly there is no such thing as perfection outside of God. I disagree, however. I say that perfection is all around us. The way I see it, perfection is the ultimate balance between all that is good and beautiful, and all the necessary evils that must exist for good to persist. A perfect day would not be a day filled with nothing but joy and happiness; a perfect day would have plenty of good events and happy occasions, but also just the right amount of problems to challenge you and cause you to grow stronger. A perfect spouse would not be someone whose views and interests are exactly as yours, and who has no flaws; a perfect spouse would be someone you love completely for both their strengths and their flaws. Who shares enough interests with you that you get along well, but also whose flaws correspond to yours, either directly or inversely, that you can together succeed where one may fail, and pick the other up where they fall short. Every day is a perfect day. We just need to keep our eyes open to all that is beautiful, and see our problems as challenges to help us grow stronger personally, and in our relationships with Christ and others.
