Perspective of peace Nothing can intrude on the peace that is within you. Yet even the smallest thing can cover it up and hide it from your awareness. Still, it is always there and you can always come back to it. Let go of whatever is blocking that peace, and it is yours to experience again. Don’t let the outer disturbances cover up the peace that is within you. Instead, choose to view those outer events from a confident, peaceful perspective. When you live from a perspective of peace, you live with great power and effectiveness. When nothing can trouble you, everything is of great value to you. It is your nature to be at peace and to live with the peaceful power of authentic purpose. Make the decision to connect with that purpose, with that peace, and you will. The peace you seek is already there. Stop heaping meaningless drama on top of it, and allow that peace to flow freely throughout your awareness. Humility grows a little more each time I step away from my own feelings and opinions and genuinely listen to the experience of another human being. Humility is dedication to the extent that no acknowledgement is sought for the self. Only when I have learned to value others no more or less than I value myself can I be said to be truly humble. 1 Timothy 4:8 8 For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come. You’ve been raised on the Message of the faith and have followed sound teaching. Now pass on this counsel to the followers of Jesus there, and you’ll be a good servant of Jesus. Stay clear of silly stories that get dressed up as religion. Exercise daily in God—no spiritual flabbiness, please! Workouts in the gymnasium are useful, but a disciplined life in God is far more so, making you fit both today and forever. You can count on this. Take it to heart. This is why we’ve thrown ourselves into this venture so totally. We’re banking on the living God, Savior of all men and women, especially believers. Psalm 27:14 14 Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the Lord. I’m sure now I’ll see God’s goodness in the exuberant earth. Stay with God! Take heart. Don’t quit. I’ll say it again: Stay with God. Waiting is a way for God to hone our hearts. We need to remember that we serve the God who sees the beginning from the end, and when our timetable clashes with His timetable, the delay is due to His goodness and love. Like the Psalmist, remind yourself that God sees what needs to happen and when it needs to happen. When we wait upon the Lord our heart strengthens and our perspectives enlarge. 2 Corinthians 1:3-4 3 Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort; 4 Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God. The Rescue All praise to the God and Father of our Master, Jesus the Messiah! Father of all mercy! God of all healing counsel! He comes alongside us when we go through hard times, and before you know it, he brings us alongside someone else who is going through hard times so that we can be there for that person just as God was there for us. We have plenty of hard times that come from following the Messiah, but no more so than the good times of his healing comfort—we get a full measure of that, too. We are comforted to comfort others. God doesnt bless us with his presence and comfort of his Spirit because we are somehow better than everyone else. No, he comforts u s to equip, empower, and encourage others. God has human hands, but only when I use mine to his glory and for others comfort. Love, Debbie
