Peter Obi And The Reserve. When the Great Ikemba of Nnewi; Dim - TopicsExpress

Peter Obi And The Reserve. When the Great Ikemba of Nnewi; Dim Chukwuemeka Ojukwu pointed the direction of Peter Obi to his people to vote for as the then New Governor of Anambra State; Anambrans didnt know Peter Obi that well, but trusted the goodness, magnanimity, strength and leadership that rested on the Shoulders of the Ikemba. For just on his recommendation; the people of Anambra State Unanimously took on and accepted Peter Obi and made him their Governor. Remembering the Son of whom you are: Peter Obi could have assumed Office and thought, to hell with everyone, at least now I am the Governor of Anambra State therefore I am invincible. He could have been like some wayward Rascals that forget the hands that fed them very easily; But no, he calmed down and sat at the feet of his mentor and became a Son even to him. Governor Obi in my eyes was the Ikemba of Nnewis first Son or that was the role he assumed till the Internment of the late Ikemba. Still remembering his mentor and the reputation that placed him where he was; acted and spoke guided as a wise one should. Is it any wonder hes leaving office and remembered: THAT A GOOD LEADER IS ONE WHO IS CONSCIOUS OF THE WORD ACCOUNTABILITY TO ALL. I dont remember how many Political office holders, be they Governors or otherwise in Nigeria that left office and openly discuss the State reserves, and now in the positive to the Huge tune of N75 Billion. The new Governor is not coming to look at the Ceiling but actually have funds to get things done. Anambra Indigenes must be happy they listened to the Ikemba of Nnewi and secretly wishing he is still here to point yet another good man for them towards the next era. We are proud of Peter Obi and his achievements. We only wish him well in his next appointments. We sincerely hope other well meaning leaders will follow his enviable footsteps. Esther Chikere.
