Through reading, we expose ourselves to new things, new information, new ways to solve a problem, and new ways to achieve one thing. Through reading, we will understand the world more as reading increases our understanding of the rules of life that enable us to adapt, adopt and accommodate into the society. When we read, we also gain the knowledge and experience of someone. It can hasten our success towards a goal, as we don’t need to repeat the same mistake while focusing on the right path in achieving one thing. We should read on a wide range of subjects. Don’t just stick to your favourite subject matter. While I have my favourites, I also try to read as many other topics as possible from time to time. Astronomy, textile, human migration, genetics, bread making, history, computer science, aviation, medicine, animals, psychology, bananas, criminology – all these make interesting reading. Reading a wide range of subjects will give you a better understanding of the world we live in. [But I could be wrong - if you stick to just reading about Hollywood and local celebrity gossips and the stories about the bomohs and jins, you might do very well in life too] Pick up a book today. Pick a topic that you have never read before. Have a great week ahead, folks.
