Ph.D. Graduate Student Position Seismology Department of Geology & Geophysics University of Utah Salt Lake City, UT, United States The University of Utah department of Geology & Geophysics is pleased to announce a new fully-funded PhD position investigating the dynamics, stability and failure of natural rock arches. Candidates should have a background in seismology and be highly motivated for field work. Competence in rock mechanics and geomorphology is desirable. This project draws on Utah’s unique landscape with study sites in Arches and Canyonlands National Parks. A MSc degree at the time of application is not required although is an advantage (BSc is required). See project summary at: geohazards.earth.utah.edu/arch.html.
