Philippines\Malaysia *************************** At least 53 people have died in flooding and landslides caused by tropical storm Jangmi in the Philippines. More than 80,000 people have been evacuated from their homes in a number of central and southern provinces. Weather warnings had been issued, but officials say some people may have underestimated the situation. The deaths follow severe flooding in Malaysia, where more than 145,000 people sought refuge in shelters. At least 21 people have been killed and eight others are missing after the worst flooding in decades across Malaysias northeast. The government has been criticised for it slow response after many victims were caught stranded in outlying areas without food and clean water.
