Plague consolidates top spot Although the season is just six games old, Wyndham Plague has moved to outright top of their divisional ladder with a resounding 27-20 win over contender Tarneit Titans A at Werribee Stadium tonight. After leading 14-10 at half-time, the Plague continued its consistent form, disposing of the foul-plagued Titans. Plague remains undefeated after six rounds, with four wins, a draw and bye. The Titans, previously unbeaten after four matches, will now have to reconsider their strategy before the two teams next meet in late January. The Titans, filled with massive units, posed no offensive threat to the Plague, whose strong defence has become a hallmark of their performances over the last two seasons. G-Drive took some massive hits defending in the key, but the Titans fell foul of the referees with both actions and words, sending Plaguers to the foul line on numerous occasions. Even Big Ticket took to the stripe to score. Kole Man has emerged as a strong performer inside, and his work meant the scoreboard continually clicked over for the Plague. He was ably assisted by the fleet-footed Money and Creek. J was his effervescent self, using speed to torch the opposition on the fast break to score a terrific pressure lay-up, as the Plague continued to pressure the Titans out of the game, while G-Drive showed again he can drive to the basket with the same determination as he defends. This was a great team effort, G-Drive said after the game. BT remarked on the improved fitness of Kole, despite the fact he turned up to the game wearing his pants inside-out. Cmon Kole, check the tag. It goes on the inside of your pants, BT said. Creek said: Great effort boys. Onwards and upwards. The Plague meets the bottom of the ladder The Unknowns next week at 9.25 pm. Tickets are available through Ticketek, however given the Plagues form and their ability to attract huge television audiences, the game is expected to be played live on Foxtels ESPN 2. Stay tuned. ends
