Plain and simple: I refuse to support any candidate that embraces anti-intellectualism or is anti-education in any fashion. Education and intellectualism in their many forms are fundamental to an enriched, civilized, peaceful world. They are essential to the enhancement of civil rights for indigenous peoples, women and all marginalized groups across the planet. In Hawai‘i, education was so fundamental a commitment of our Kingdom that Ke Ali‘i Pauahi dedicated her vast resources in perpetuity to it, and all our Ali‘i made education and literacy a priority in their own lives and across the Kingdom. Fear of education is for the weak and ignorant. Fear of intellectualism is for the cowardly and the selfish. Vote in people who want to embrace education for all people; who support education first initiatives; who believe people are empowered when educated. Elect people who want facts and who believe in transparently sharing those facts with the people they represent. It is said that people have the governments they deserve. By all means, let us be a people deserving of a better government than we have had. So as the ballots start to come out, I welcome everyone to share who you voted for in the various elections and why (respectfully of course, swear or get nuts and Ill delete the comment) and if asked, I will in turn do the same. These elections are important. Our voices count. #greatcitizens #greatgovernment globaleducationfirst.org/
