Planting A Seed Or Killing A Tree Every other day, the - TopicsExpress

Planting A Seed Or Killing A Tree Every other day, the headlines of the Press-Enterprise has to do with someone dying or some random killing. Today its Woman Killed, Body Burned. I often hear from friends and family about how horrible it is. My family members work in local hospitals and I hear stories of drunk drivers killing innocent people and so on. Which brings up many seemingly unanswerable questions. Why do bad things happen to good people? Why does God allow this kind of stuff to happen? But I beg to argue, that God has nothing to do with it. That for every effect there is a cause, that for every cause there is an effect. This has nothing to do with mystical, godlike or unseen forces. Many ancient teachings tell us that what you reap, is what you have sown. Your mother probably told you that what goes around, comes around. So lets explore the possibilities. Heres the scenario. A bum is begging for money on the side of the freeway. He has an animal and so you feel sorry for them, you reach into your wallet and hand him $ 10.00. You may reason to yourself that its just $ 10.00 and that its not much anyway, right? But lets just say for the sake of argument that he takes that $ 10.00 and buys four 32 ounces of some cheap beer. Its late at night, hes now severely intoxicated and wanders into the middle of the road. A young woman driving home too fast doesnt see him in the darkness. The impact is very hard because she is speeding and so when she hits him, he dies. Now not only has he lost his life, but now the woman is has been arrested and charged with involuntary manslaughter. She gets convicted, and although not directly her fault, she then has to spend the next two years in a minimum security prison. She was in college, working on her masters, trying to become a doctor. Lets say that her passion was exploring medicines that cure cancer. The world and humanity has suffered a great loss. Now what does this have to do with you? After all, you had no idea he would do such a thing, right? And you had no idea that she wouldnt see him...and so on. So how did it happen then? and why? Well, she was speeding, he was drunk, and you take no thought as to what a bum is going to do with the money. So, like a truck that drives on dusty road in desert, a trail of dust follows you. Throughout life, you make hasty decisions, pushing random domino chains and you do not think them through to the end of the last domino falling. Therefore, you live your life on a series of whims and emotions with no thought as to how it will effect others. In essence, you help create a world where not much thought is given to the result of ones actions. If nature behaved this way, we would not exist. Let me explain. If the bee did not care about getting his honey by earning it the right way (working all day) and carrying pollen to and from the flowers, the flowers would not get pollinated, if the flowers do not get pollinated, the flowers will cease to exist, and if there are no flowers, there is no bee. God or whatever greater power you believe in, had a method to his, her or its creation. Those methods are patterns and cycles that are governed by certain laws, one of them being the law of cause and effect. These laws should be known and understood by all of humanity. Everything in nature, absolutely everything is a cycle, and if you think you are exempt - just remember the bee. For any negative disruption to such life cycles has a negative effect on every part of its life cycle circle. Maybe this one bee does not effect the cycle today, maybe not tomorrow, but if every bee behaved with such dis concern then you have a serious breakdown in bee society eventually effecting all life on earth. When you think you are too small, or that you are just one person who doesnt have much of an effect in the world, think again and realize that you do! That every action (your actions) has a reaction and we all effect each other. So be wise in your daily dealings, in what you choose to say, and in all aspects of living.
