Pleasant Hill Place Home Operator (One position full time - 20 hrs. /day set schedule rotation) Under the supervision of the PHP Supervisor, the Home Operators are responsible to ensure home operations are as efficient, and supportive as possible. Pleasant Hill Place (PHP) provides supportive co-housing for single mothers, who may be at risk of, or already have, their children placed in care with the Ministry of Social Services. They could be homeless or on the verge of homelessness and in need of a variety of supports to help create a path toward independent living and self-reliance. The Home Operator provides daily onsite support to the residents and coordinates the daily operations and activities of the home. The Home Operators are involved directly with the women and their children, first in the admissions process, then the establishment of individual case plans tailored to each resident’s needs, as well as a plan for when residents leave the facility. Duties: • Live in the home during scheduled shifts; • Assist with the development of a case plan for all residents • Assist in fostering linkages to the Ministry of Social Services, and other community resources • Provide training, in conjunction with others, in basic life skills for participants; • Maintain file records and statistics on residents and daily work to assist in case management as well as to assist in the ongoing development and modification of the program; • Assist the residents to reach education, employment and/or training goals • Participate in assisting residents with a plan for once they leave the program; • Menu development and implementation • Food preparation • Planning Recreational activities • Maintain PHP inventories and related budgets. • Review staff timesheets • Implement and participate in a cleaning and maintenance schedule. • To provide direction and support to other program staff working at PHP • Other duties as required. Knowledge and Experience: • Experience working at the community level with low-income people. • Ability to work effectively with government, business and community • Demonstrated experience related the issues of at risk single-parent women • Experience with supervisory skills • Experience with budget administration • Excellent computer skills; experience working with spreadsheets • Excellent written and oral communication skills • Strong facilitation and conflict resolution skills • Ability to work 24 hour shifts • Valid driver’s license. • Will need a criminal record check along with a vulnerable person check completed Quint is a family friendly workplace that offers a supportive working environment.
