Please Share!!!The Portsmouth City Cowboys Football and Cheer called Parks & Recreation to ask if they could provide the children Porto Potties for our home game tomorrow against teams from Virginia Beach and Norfolk. We were told that because we are not a city sponsored team, they will not be providing us with anything. Also, this same guy said that if you wouldve combined with their team you wouldnt have this problem. This is far nicer then what he told us months ago when we were looking for a field to play on. His words then were, you should go to Suffolk! Now this concerns us because we thought this was about the children. In our program we have over 120 boys and girls that are all from the city of Portsmouth. We dont even have to mention that this means we have over 120 kids who are not getting in trouble because they are too busy do something that keeps them out of trouble. See we understand that we are independent as a league in Portsmouth; however these children are not independent from Portsmouth. They are Portsmouth residents who have Portsmouth parents that have Portsmouth friends which mean they are all Portsmouth residents who will be using these Potties. Also, we have teams coming from Virginia Beach and Norfolk is the message we want to send to the visitors we have coming to Portsmouth tomorrow that our children dont deserve Porto Potties because they didnt choose the city sponsored teams? We thought the city of Portsmouth sponsors all of Portsmouth kids, but I guess not. The Portsmouth City Cowboys are not asking for money, we are just asking them to help us make sure that the 120 children in our program and the 100 or so kids coming from Virginia Beach and Norfolk have somewhere to use the restroom so that they do not make mistakes on themselves. See we focus on winning in our program, and when we say winning, we mean winning in the classroom. We have volunteer coaches going to schools and checking up on our kids to make sure they are doing right. When kids get in trouble at home or in school, we make sure they pay for it in practice and even suspend them for the game. We are just not sure that the people in Parks in Recreation have that same winning attitude when it comes to us having to compete with their city programs to have somewhere for these kids to use the restroom. So Portsmouth City Cowboy family, Im asking you to call 757-393-8481 extension 4119 and ask them why your children dont deserve a place to use the restroom because they did not choose the city teams.
