Please could anyone with factual information regarding the Manmoel Common Pony situation contact us as a matter of urgency. We are receiving alarming and concerning intelligence but it is imperative that facts and a present moment status is verified. There is dire concern that these horses are not to be allowed a rehoming option, despite assurances by an unidentified spokesperson from the Councils that this is to be the case. Speculation and sensationalism is not productive in any event, yet until response is received to provide factual clarity provided, there seems to exist a fait a complis stringent procedure in place from the Trading Standards and Councils, with the horses lives set up for failure and the realisation that they are all to be culled immediately with no option of rehoming to be put into place due to the obstructive communication process. Information being received which is unverified but nonetheless of huge concern and requires substantiation is - This morning in the early hours the colts and stallion were separated and have disappeared, potentially culled. There is a plan to drive the ponies tomorrow or Tuesday by quad into a farm in the valley, where they will be culled. The ponies are being held in a location that prevents access from any parties other than council and trading standards representatives. In the absence of receiving any communication from an appointed lead on this event - we confirm that we remain hugely concerned and request accountability and information. Agreed these ponies require support due to their circumstances but a cull regardless of qualified homes being available and offered is inappropriate and equuscide at its most barbaric.
