Please pray for a miracle for Sydney. I am guessing that shes about 15yrs old by now. This horrible disease of cancer struck when she was about 12. Here is the letter I received from her mother today: I want to begin this post by thanking each and every one of you for loving our daughter! I apologize for not keeping you all updated as I probably should. I realized that I used this forum once before as somewhat of therapy for me so I updated more frequently. This time around…it is just hard to write sometimes. I now tend to keep a lot of things to myself and just deal rather than voicing my every worry and frustration. Our trip to Houston didn’t prove the outcome we had so hoped for and it left us a little more scarred. I never thought about chemo not working…it is supposed to work! What do you do when faced with that scenario? You pull your boot straps up and move on because I know there is someone, somewhere that has the right plan for our baby. I pray that God showed us that someone and that somewhere and that is how we ended up in Charlotte, NC. Some have asked how they can specifically pray. Our specific prayer request is that we have been led to the right doctor and he is providing the right treatment that will melt away the tumor. We need the tumor to show a response and decrease in size in order for the operation to provide the curative results we want. Sydney is doing well. She receives chemo once a week, every other week and a bone protectant infusion once a month. We are scheduled for repeat scans the week before Thanksgiving. Fall is Sydney’s favorite time of year and Thanksgiving being one of her most enjoyed holidays. I pray our holiday is filled with answered prayers and continuous thanksgivings to the One who answers our prayers! God is good and we are blessed…we live in a wonderful community filled with some of the most generous people around. We have a loving family, church family and friends. We have a roof over our head, clothes on our backs and food on our table. And today we have good health. Although Sydney is fighting a battle she is in good health, she amazes the Dr’s and nurses every time we enter the clinic. She had dose #2 of chemo last Friday and although she handled it well, it was hard. She has been a little emotional and her back has been hurting which makes it hard to get a good night sleep. Sleep deprivation makes it hard to bounce back so I ask you to pray that the pain subsides and she gets good sleep. Thank you once again…many of you have provided gift cards, meals and thoughtful gifts and I apologize if you haven’t received a thank you card. I am very behind and some gifts have been left anonymously. Please know that your thoughtfulness and generosity has not been unnoticed. We are forever grateful and humbled by your kindness.
