Please share the post. The Seacoast Science Centers Marine Mammal Rescue Team transported this little harbor seal pup to rehab yesterday morning. It was likely abandoned by its mother because people and dogs approached it (prints were found in the sand right up to the animal). The pup, only 24 hours old when first observed, looked healthy, but hungry. Newborns nurse every few hours around the clock. The pup was brought to the National Marine Life Center in Buzzards Bay; the closest location able to accommodate his high need of care at this time. Please check back (on the New Hampshire Marine Mammal Rescue facebook page) for more photos and updates on the pups condition. Here is how you can help: 1. Share this post. 2. Learn more about what to do and not do if you encounter a seal or other marine mammal on the beach at: seacoastsciencecenter.org/mmrt/ 3. Like our Marine Mammal Rescue Facebook page to help spread the word and keep up-to-date with this pups condition and other rescues in New Hampshire. 3. Contribute. It costs nearly $70,000 a year to maintain NHs rescue effort, and the seals cant pay! To give please visit: https://z2systems/np/clients/seacoast/campaign.jsp?campaign=588&&test=true Thank you!
