Please take a minute to at least read the change in lyrics to this song we have become so familiar with. So much focus is given to Jesus coming as a baby while neglecting to fully recognize the greater aspect of his coming. He was God incarnate, God in the flesh. He was the only child ever born knowing the reason for which he was sent and what would be required of him, yet he did and knowing the horrendous death required of him (he who left the riches of heaven!). No wonder the angels sang out the announcement of his birth! The plan set forth before the foundation of the earth was now being readied for the stage and would forever change the entire course of history!! Let that soak into your bones and spirit. The greatest love ever known was to be fully demonstrated one day on the rugged cross of Calvary. Jesus no longer hangs nailed upon the cross but risen in victory over death for you and me! The same power that raised him from death is extended to anyone who believes upon him and empowers us to walk holy, even as he is holy! May your eyes be opened to behold Jesus afresh and your hearts thrown wide open to receive him. Ive heard about this baby boy Whos come to earth to bring us joy And I just want to sing this song to you It goes like this, the fourth, the fifth The minor fall, the major lift With every breath Im singing Hallelujah Hallelujah A couple came to Bethlehem Expecting child, they searched the inn To find a place for You were coming soon There was no room for them to stay So in a manger filled with hay Gods only Son was born, oh Hallelujah Hallelujah The shepherds left their flocks by night To see this baby wrapped in light A host of angels led them all to You It was just as the angels said Youll find Him in a manger bed Immanuel and Savior, Hallelujah Hallelujah A star shown bright up in the east To Bethlehem, the wisemen three Came many miles and journeyed long for You And to the place at which You were Their frankincense and gold and myrrh They gave to You and cried out Hallelujah Hallelujah I know You came to rescue me This baby boy would grow to be A man and one day die for me and you My sins would drive the nails in You That rugged cross was my cross, too Still every breath You drew was Hallelujah Hallelujah
