Please take time to read this. This is a photo of our son gerard. On jan 3rd 2011 we lost our lovely son gerard to suicide. He was 23yrs old. He had the world at his feet. This had a devastating effect on family/friends and a community and it was a life changing event. As a result we felt we had to do something about this. We couldnt let gerards life go in vain. As a result we decided to create an event to raise awareness of suicide and funds. We called it the Gerard Murphy Memorial vintage and classic show and road run. This was the only way we could raise awareness through the vintage and classic cars. With the support of family/friends and the community and most important of all the car owners. Without all this support we wouldnt be able to do it. Now we have a event that is the most talked about and best supported show of its kind in ireland to date. This is the 4th year and we look forward the continued support from everyone to continue what we are doing. Over the last 4yrs 3500 people have died from suicide nationwide. This is the population of a small town. We feel something has to be done about this. We also raise a lots of funds for console who are nationwide and in all the right places to help people. Gerard murphy memorial takes place in ferns sun oct 5th in ferns co wexford. If you could support us on the day we would gratefully appreciate it. Regards Pat murphy (father)
