Poetry is a spontaneous overflow of emotions recollected in tranquillity. Hooliganism is a moments foolishness finding a spontaneous outburst. Beauty, love and philosophy usually lead to poety. Grime, filth and decadence trigger the hooliganism and hooligans. “Broken Window” syndrome beautifully captures this. Mr. Jolly has found himself batted into a corner because he found his emotions overflowing without any control. Did hi plan this “outburst” or was it spontaneous. We will never know. But one thing is that if this is not punished, it will give raise to other such “spontaneous” outbursts. Much as we dislike Tarun Tejpal or Shoma. Till the time they are convicted they deserve the due process of law and need to be give all the common courtesy the law affords to the accuseds including the courtesy of not prejudging. We ought to condemn BJP for concluding that Tarun Tejpal to be guilty and making speeches about it as it can affect the due judicial process.
