Police are appealing for information following a fatal crash near Coffs Harbour in April. Just before 11.30pm, Saturday 12 April 2014, a 32-year-old woman was driving a white Subaru Liberty east along Lyons Road, Sawtell, about 11km south of Coffs Harbour, when she lost control of the vehicle. Police have been told the car then left the road and drove into a creek at the intersection of First Avenue and Boronia Street. Emergency services were called and the woman was taken to Coffs Harbour Hospital with head and neck injuries, and later transferred to John Hunter Hospital in a critical condition. On Sunday 4 May 2014, the woman died in hospital. Officers from Coffs Harbour Local Area Command continue to investigate the incident and are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with information about the incident to contact them.
