Police are investigating an incident near Gunnedah last week where two men suffered stab wounds. On the evening of Friday 9 May 2014, a group of people were at a property on Blackstump Way, Mullaley –about 35km south west of Gunnedah – when a fight broke out between four men. Police have been told, during the argument, a 42-year-old man suffered stab wounds to his abdomen. A second man, aged 22, also received stab wounds to his abdomen, before both men were taken to Tamworth Base Hospital, where they remain in a stable condition. Officers were called to the property and established a crime scene. Following the incident, on Friday 9 May 2014, a 44-year-old man attended Gunnedah Police Station and was arrested over the incident. He was released a short time later pending further inquiries. As police continue their investigations into the incident, they are urging anyone with information to contact them.
