Police have arrested a 40 year old male in Malak this afternoon after he went on a violent rampage around the suburb. It is alleged that he attended a residence in Karama just before 1pm where he demanded to speak to an acquaintance. When he was advised this person was not at home he smashed a glass door with a baseball bat. He then left the premises and walked through the suburbs wielding the baseball bat. Police received numerous reports from fearful residents in nearby streets and then attended Table top Ct Malak where the male had randomly smashed cars with the bat. Police were then directed to a residence in Palmer Court where the offender had struck a 31 year old male over the head with the bat. The males were known to each other. The offender fled to nearby parklands where police had to use a taser to safely apprehend him. He remains in custody. No charges have yet been laid.
