Police have charged a man following a pursuit after earth moving equipment was stolen from an Auburn business. Between Friday 26 September and 29 September 2014, two Bobcat earth moving vehicles were stolen from a business on Chisholm Road, Auburn. About 3.30am on Monday 29 September 2014, police attempted to pull over a stolen Isuzu tipper truck and trailer carrying two stolen Bobcats at Peter Brock Drive, Eastern Creek. The driver of the Isuzu truck allegedly failed to stop for police and a pursuit was commenced. During the pursuit the truck became caught in a ditch and three occupants fled on foot. Following a foot pursuit, police arrested a 33-year-old Lurnea man outside a fast food restaurant on the M4 at Eastern Creek. The two other passengers were unable to be located. The man was taken to Blacktown Police Station where he was charged with aggravated break and enter and commit serious indictable offence (x5), goods in custody, and possess housebreaking equipment. He was refused bail and appeared at Blacktown Local Court today (Tuesday 30 September) where he was granted conditional bail to appear at Penrith Local Court on Friday 28 November 2014. Following investigations, police from Hawkesbury Local Area Command, State Crime Command’s Property Crime Squad, Camden Local Area Command and North West Metro Region Operation Countdown conducted a search warrant at a home on Taylors Road, Silverdale. During the search warrant police seized earth moving equipment, vehicles, tools and other equipment for forensic examination. Investigations are continuing with police attempting to locate the two men allegedly involved in the theft.
