Police have launched an investigation after a child was seriously injured while riding a quad bike in Chester Hill yesterday. About 5pm (Tuesday 20 January 2015), emergency services were called to Lodge Place after a six-year-old boy was injured while riding a quad bike in the area. Officers have been told the boy was riding the bike in a cul-de-sac when he hit the rear of a vehicle that was parked in a driveway. The boy sustained serious head injuries and was taken to The Children’s Hospital at Westmead for treatment, where he remains in a serious condition. Specialist officers from the Metropolitan Crash Investigation Unit conducted an examination of the scene and are continuing their inquiries into the matter. Anyone who may have witnessed the incident, and has not yet spoken to police, is urged to come forward.
