Police were called to the Hilton Hotel in Adelaides CBD a short time ago after reports of a man carrying a knife. Just before 9am, a woman saw a man entering the lift on the eighteenth floor. As she approached the lift, the woman noticed the man was carrying a knife. He made no threats or demands and the woman turned around and walked back to her room. Hotel management were advised and police, with the assistance of members from Star Group, searched the hotel including corridors and public areas, but were unable to locate him. Guests were not evacuated from the hotel. He is described as being in his late 20s, 180cm tall, slim build with dark blonde cropped hair and wearing a t-shirt, jeans and white sandshoes. Access to the eighteenth floor was restricted until police had completed the search.
