Pondering: Contentment We put in the effort to find a Power Greater than ourselves so that our burdens will not be so heavy. We find peace/serenity and realize we want this way of life. We do all we can to maintain that sense of God, including prayer and meditation. And then one day we sense that what we have is not enough. We struggle to retrieve what was lost. We grasp desperately to find that old connection, trying harder to do exactly what worked before. Then we see that because we were convinced we had the answer we were content. It was enough, or so we thought. At this point we come to understand that maintenance alone will only keep us where were at. In contentment our defects and fears rise to the surface and we find that the old way of life is still within us. We must strive to not be content with the knowledge we have learned so that more can be revealed. Our next function is to grow in understanding and effectiveness. This is not an overnight matter. It should continue for our lifetime. BB: pg. 84 God, please remove in us that which blocks Your intuitive thought. Thy will not mine be done.
