Portrait of a Mountain No meticulously crafted composition here, just a pretty sweet mountain and some nice alpenglow. Nuptse, 25,791 ft. (7,861 m), as seen from the summit of Kala Patthar, 18,514 ft. (5,643 m) in the Everest region of Nepal. This was from one my my favorite evenings of our trek. Just moments before this shot was taken, a huge avalanche broke from the shelf in very the bottom of the frame (just left of center). Meanwhile, the full moon was rising over Everest, just out of frame to the left. Moonrise shot coming soon! Im in the process of finishing up a series called Himalayan Twilight. Still a few more images to go, but Im really looking forward to wrapping up this project.
