Portugal on eDreams top 10 beach destinations Portuguese beaches attract more European tourists every day. For the Summer 2014, Portugal is rated 4th place on eDreams top 10 of Beach Destinations with 5 locations, right after Spain (16), Greece (12) and Italy (8). According to eDreams, the biggest online agency for flight travel, flight reservations with Portugal as a final destination have increased 36% comparing with last year. The Algarve, Madeira and the Azores are among the preferences of tourists. Faro is placed 5th among the 50 destinations ranked. Funchal is 9th, Ponta Delgada is 30th, Terceira Island is 40th and Pico, 49th. Pablo de Porcioles, from eDreams Iberia, explained that due to “its climate, habits and traditions, Portugal is a favorite destination that is appreciated and searched for. And for sure the beaches are each year more wanted for tourists that use eDreams.”
