Possessor & Professors 1st Pet.2:9,10 But you are a chosen people, royal priests, a holy nation, a people for God’s own possession. You were chosen to tell about the wonderful acts of God, who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light. 10 At one time you were not a people, but now you are God’s people. In the past you had never received mercy, but now you have received God’s mercy. James 1:22 But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. I know some folk who love fishing.They are so very knowledgeable about it. They can talk about fishing all day,long. Night too ! Lures and bait.Times, seasons, and conditions. Boats, rods, equipment of any kind.Funny, they almost never get out to go fishing !! They profess knowledge,but lack skills. So very often well meaning professing Christians say many things about Christ. They memorize facts and scriptures, concepts and doctrines,yet they do not possess the Spirit of Christ,nor does he possess them.They can verbalize all kinds of data,and knowledge,but without the Life that is IN Christ its just trivia,no more.They can sound as if they are truly saved,but there lives tell a very different story. Its not enough to PROFESS, we must POSSESS and be POSSESSED. Sadly the Professors are the Goats spoken of in Mat.25:31 to 46 , and not the sheep.Sheep hear and follow the voice of the Shepherd,while goats scatter and do as they see fit rather than submit to the Shepherd.They hear the word, yet do not allow it to transform them,or give them the life God intended. Like Fisherman who do not fish,they do not produce as God intended. They are Professors, and not Possessors.Do YOU friend, possess the Life of Christ ? Do you possess his life giving, life transforming POWER or do you have only words and no deeds ? If you can not point to a day, or time when all you gave your heart and soul to Christ or became, changed forever and you KNEW you were saved, you are not his. Lets Pray : Lord, The human mind and heart are such complex places.we can fool others ,and ourselves ,but never you. Lord I pray this day for those who have been deceived into thinking they possess something that in reality is no more than trivia. Give them clear thinking,and bring them, call them to you.
