Possible Government Shut-down Navy Region Japan and our - TopicsExpress

Possible Government Shut-down Navy Region Japan and our Installation Commanding Officers are working diligently to minimize the potential the impact of a government shutdown. Already, we have assurances that medical facilities, commissaries, exchanges, child development centers and DoDEA schools will remain open, and government transportation services from outlying housing areas or to local commercial airports will continue. Likewise, military banking facilities will remain open, as will MWR facilities, though some specialized MWR services may be curtailed. This is a fluid situation and information will continue to be promulgated as it becomes available. You are encouraged to stay abreast of the latest Department of Defense and Department of the Navy information from the following links: • Chief of Naval Personnel: navylive.dodlive.mil/2013/09/25/answers-to-your-shutdown-questions • Civilian Personnel Management Service: cmps.osd.mil • Office of personnel Management: opm.gov/furlough/furlough.asp • Department of the Navy Human Resources: public.navy.mil/donhr We will post any updates as soon as we get them.
