Post radio show thoughts...Enjoyed a quiet afternoon alone after doing Breakfast in Bed on KZSC this morning. When I finish the show Im very charged up from 3 hours of playing great music and all the personal interaction with listeners via their beautiful and generous calls/texts/FBs/thanks/requests/questions/suggestions. Its a beautiful thing, all that energy of the show! And I equally dig the quiet time afterwards. NYTimes and me, very sweet. So great afternoon today... But I want to make one more musical comment tonight...Annie Lennox. Love her BIG TIME, always have, from the sweet dreams are made of these days through Diva, the covers album, Live in Central Park, all of it. She reigns supreme in my world. Immense talent. Tonight I was poking around YouTube and I found this charming interview w/her talking about this latest album, Nostalgia: how she chose the songs or they chose her, how a cover song finds a way to express itself differently through her, etc. (I attempted to express this last point on the show today and love how she expresses it here.) ENJOY!!
